Stewardship of Creation Enablers (SCE) – SCEs are designated by presbyteries to educate, motivate and facilitate action toward protecting God’s creation on individual, congregational and presbytery levels. The Environmental Ministries office (EM) of the Presbyterian Church USA provides training and resources for the SCE program. To find out who the SCE is in your presbytery, call EM at (888) 728-7228, x5624 or email Katie Holmes at katie.holmes@pcusa.org. Fewer than a third of presbyteries have an SCE. If your presbytery does not have an SCE, consider encouraging your presbytery to acquire one. There is a current list of presbyteries who do have an SCE at http://www.pcusa.org/environment/enablers.htm. PEC collaborates with EM to provide a training track for SCEs at its conferences.
Point Persons – PEC is seeking a Point Person in each presbytery, especially those without an SCE, to serve as a connection between PEC and the presbytery. We want to share stories from presbyteries throughout the nation and need someone to seek out such stories and send them to us. We also need to know who to contact in a presbytery about event and advocacy opportunities. If you would like to serve in this role, please e-mail pecjulie@gmail.com with your name, congregation, and presbytery.
